Genius Hour 1.6

My wooden cat is being a pain in the butt. Trying to whittle proper proportions while also keeping clean cuts is very hard. It does not look even close to a cat and that's grinding my gears. I'm not sure if I should keep going with this project , or perhaps sideline it and start a new one until I'm better at overcoming those obstacles. At the very least, in my 7 or so weeks of whittling, at least I still haven't cut my fingers off yet. I'm hoping to figure out how to whittle animals soon, because that was my goal in all of this whittling.

  1. Whittling definitely sounds like a difficult project! I'm glad that you're staying positive and finding that silver lining through all your frustrations. Maybe instead of trashing what you're currently working on, you could just change your perspective. Perhaps a different option could be to shoot for an abstract cat first. That might help to keep your spirits up until you figure out how to overcome the issues that you're facing. I'm sure you'll be able to figure it out within the next two weeks. Good luck!

  2. I think you are doing great! Just because your cat is out of proportions and doesn't look like a real cat doesn't mean it's not good. You could say it's your own made up breed of cat. What do you think you will do with all your statues? good luck out there tiger!
